Scott refers to himself as a “THINspirational Speaker” because he started speaking professionally after losing 70 pounds over 13 years ago and learned that
the largest barries to progress are perfectionism and procrastination. With a twenty-year background in media (radio, TV, print), marketing, and advertising, Scott is a syndicated newspaper columnist, and author of two books. He won two national Telly awards for TV marketing. He is an ongoing consultant and marketing instructor for the Northcoast Small Business Development Center. Beyond that Scott was the 2006-2007 president of the northern California chapter of the national Speakers Association.
He is known for lively, playful presentations and has been described as a cross between “business 101, group therapy, and a southern revival.” He reminds you that in order to get the most out of his part of the presentation, you’ll need to put your left-brain on hold. (By the way, although he is a Weight Watchers leader, he is not a “food cop.” He requests you do not monitor what he eats and he will not watch you – however he might be willing to do some marketing consulting for you in exchange for French fries.)
